  4. *Signature File Update Information for Windows Anti-Virus Version 2.x*

  6. The self-extracting archive file named WINSIG.EXE is for users of Central
  7. Point Anti-Virus for Windows Version 2.x, or later.  It contains updated
  8. files that include the latest virus signatures available.
  9.  
  10. To update your version of Central Point Anti-Virus for Windows, follow these
  11. steps:
  12.  
  13. 1. Copy the self-extracting archive file WINSIG.EXE to a temporary directory
  14.    on your hard drive.
  15.  
  16. 2. Run WINSIG.EXE to extract CPAVSCAN.DLL, the update signature file, 
  17.    WNVIRLST.CPS, an updated virus list file, and the README.TXT file.
  18.  
  19. 3. Copy the files CPAVSCAN.DLL, and WNVIRLST.CPS to the directory on your
  20.    hard drive containing the Central Point Anti-Virus for Windows files.
  21.  
  22. 4. Run the Central Point Anti-Virus Windows program.
  23.  
  24. 5. NOTE - Check to see if the following line exists in the [options] section
  25.    of the CPAV.INI file:  havetoupdate
  26.    The CPAV.INI file is found in the WNCPAV\DATA or CPS\DATA directory.  
  27.    Edit the CPAV.INI file and change the following:

  30.    havetoupdate=180 
  31.    to 
  32.    havetoupdate=

  37. The virus list is updated automatically when you run the program.
